About Us

Enduring Legacy Press (ELP) is a service provider to a network of local Publishing Partners.

ELP has developed a business model that provides local Publishing Partners with the opportunity to become high-quality providers of local-interest, "must-own" books. In many cases, ELP books can also be used as fundraising tools. ELP books chronicle local events and people of note within the community.

ELP Publishing Partners own the franchise rights to the territories they serve; these ownership rights are subject to a written Franchise Agreement. The goal of ELP is to help Publishing Partners capture and preserve the stories, the pictures, the quotations, the accomplishments, and the memories of their neighbors.

Benefits for Publishing Partners

The ELP business model includes the following benefits for franchisee/publishers:

  1. The ability to create a profitable start-up business with little or no front-end costs.
  2. The ability to jump-start that business while beginning on a part-time basis.
  3. The ability to enlist additional Publishing Partners and to earn significant recurring revenues from the sales efforts of these newly enlisted Partners.
  4. The ability to market ELP services exclusively in a pre-defined territory.
  5. The ability to build equity through the ownership of the franchise rights to a territory or territories (such rights are subject to a formal, signed Franchise Agreement and agreed-upon performance criteria contained in that agreement).
  6. Backroom support for book publication, including national content, typesetting, and book production.
  7. An expanding catalogue of off-the-shelf customizable content for the creation of books for local schools, businesses, and civic organizations.
  8. A detailed business plan designed to minimize wasted energy and to jump-start a revenue stream.

Services and Products for Publishing Partners

An ELP franchise provides an array of services and products to Publishing Partners, including:

  1. A business model for building a highly profitable, locally-owned publishing franchise;
  2. Sample products and sales presentations;
  3. Access to on-demand printing capabilities, page layout services, cover design, and typesetting services.
  4. Access to highly-compelling national content (used to supplement local content);
  5. Permanent archiving of all ELP books with the ability to create additional copies of the books in the future.

Why the Model Works

The Enduring Legacy Press model depends, in large part, upon two important realities: 1. People’s desire to permanently record their own personal histories and the histories of their loved ones; 2. The advent of print-on-demand and Internet technology that makes local publishing both practical and profitable.

ELP provides products that, for most communities, do not currently exist: highly-customized, locally-oriented books that, in many cases, double as fundraising vehicles for schools  and for other civic organizations.

Building an ELP Franchise

An ELP franchise is intended to accomplish at least two important objectives for Franchisees:

1. To introduce various lines of annually-recurring books to the local community, and
2. To create a diversified stream of recurring revenue for the Publishing Partners resulting from book sales, advertising sales, and referrals.

Since many ELP books are "annual" in nature, renewal business can create an increasing revenue stream that can, in turn, enhance the value of the local franchise.
