Community: ELP seeks to create significant local
histories for small communities. A Publishing Partner's Territory may
contain several distinct communities. The population and dynamics of the
Territory will determine whether or not a Community has its own web page. Franchisee: a person or corporation that is granted franchise rights to a particular territory or territories. Franchise Rights: the rights to provide ELP products
and services in a particular territory
granted under the ELP "Franchise Agreement." Level 1 Recruit: A person who is recruited by a Franchisee / Sponsor becomes a "Level 1 Recruit" after the referred party is approved by ELP and becomes an ELP Publishing Partner. Level 2 Recruit: A Publishing Partner who has been
recruited by a particular Sponsor's Level 1 Recruit, who is approved by ELP, and who becomes an ELP
Publishing Partner. Referring Franchisee: A Franchisee (or Publishing Partner) who refers a new Publishing Partner. Referring Publishing Partner: A Publishing Partner (or Franchisee) who refers a new Publishing Partner. Referral Income or Referral Fees: Revenues payable to Referring Publishing Partners based upon their referral of Level-1 and Level-2 Recruits. Sharing Arrangement: the schedule of royalty payments made to ELP
based upon the sale of books and advertising. ELP, in turn, makes payments to Level 1 and
Level 2 Sponsors, which payments are also described in the Sharing Arrangement. Sub-franchisee: Either a Level 1 Recruit or a Level-2 Recruit. Territory: A particular geographical area (or, in some cases, a particular school or university) in which a Franchisee may operate his or her ELP Franchise. The territory is defined by the Franchise Agreement. |
