In the book, the photos will be black and white: what we really need is vivid contrast, not vivid colors. Bigger is better: Since the books are small, bigger images are more pleasing to the eye, while little images tend to look like ant farms. In other words, a photograph of one or two big faces is better than a photo with a hundred tiny faces that look like dots. Tiny details may not come through: remember that images will be scanned before they are printed, and delicate details may be lost in the process. People, people, people: Unless the book is about local architecture, focus on people, not buildings. Write on the back of every photo you submit (for obvious reasons): And while you're at it, write with a number two pencil or with a soft-tipped pen because ball-point pens cab create little impressions on the face of the photograph. Tell Us Where to Mail the Photos When We're Through With Them: If you want the photos back, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Thanks! |
