The ultimate decision of whether or not an individual is suitable to become an ELP Publishing Partner is a result of many factors. The final selection of Publishing Partners is at the sole discretion of ELP. The following requirements should be considered as guidelines for selection:

1. Application for a territory that currently has no ELP Publishing Partner / Franchisee;
2. A connection to the community and a belief in the need for local publishing;
3. A reputation for integrity and high moral character;
4. The willingness to make face-to-face sales calls and to speak before small groups of students, prospective customers, and book buyers;
5. A beginner’s-level computer literacy, access to the Internet, e-mail capabilities, a scanner, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel;
6. A commitment to contact every school in one’s territory by mail and by phone within the first 30 days of implementation;
7. Maintaining minimum levels of book sales each year (see "Franchise Agreement" for details);
8. General writing skills.
