Publishing Partners' Beginning Time Line

Pre-franchise Activities:

Publishing-Partner Franchise Application and Approval process;
Franchise Agreement Signed and Witnessed.

First Month’s Activities:

Partner sets up home office with e-mail; initial ELP training; detailed review of ELP web sites and Business Plan;
Partner opens bank account for his or her franchise; 
Partner gathers local photos for posting on his or her community's web page;
Partner contacts every school in his or her territory and mails appropriate sales letters to every school's decision makers;
Publishing Partner follows up mailing with phone calls and begins setting up appointments and making sales calls;
Partner closes sales and forwards information to ELP via Internet.

Second Month’s Activities:

Contact Churches and Chambers of Commerce;
Target at least 20 likely business targets and establish contact;
Continue sales calls on schools;
Maintain awareness of progress on existing books;
Begin setting up speaking activities in the community.

Months Three Through Nine:

Continue prospecting and closing sales;
Maintain awareness of existing books in progress.

Months Nine through Twelve:

Concentrate on renewing last year’s book contracts;
Continue sales calls on schools;
Maintain awareness of progress on existing books.
